OUT IN MY CITY | MOO SHOO ICE CREAM & THRIFTING

Like most people who live in Ottawa, I've had a love-hate relationship with my city. It was once called the city that fun forgot and boring. But I have to say in the past five years, it truly has grown in so many ways. For one, the food scene has exploded with zest and spice, literally and metaphorically speaking. Like London, Ottawa is a bit of a melting pot of cultures and it's definitely reflected in the food options.

One of my new favourite spots is Moo Shoo Ice Cream. I actually first tried it last Winter. I know, what else is one to do in -21 weather? What I love about it is you will not find vanilla or chocolate here. No no. Try lime leaf and fresh mint, black sesame, hong kong milk tea, and froot loops. I said it! FROOT. LOOPS.

I truly am a quality over quantity gal and this place preaches that. Their ice cream is gourmet and made in small batches. I had a scoop of the lime leaf and one of the froot loop. They were a match made in moo shoo heaven.

I went with my friend Michael to break up our day of vintage and thrift shopping. He's my only friend who will go to the great lengths of thrifting that I do. We could both spend 3 hours in a thrift store, easily. We have so much fun sifting through the racks and showing each other our finds. Glad to have a thrifting buddy like him.

Have you been to Moo Shoo? What's you fav-flav?
