Brunch Casual

Happy Saturday! I wore this to have brunch with friends earlier today. It took no effort to throw together and the skirt allowed for eating room. The pops of colour made me feel cheery even though the weather today is totally blah.

We also did a quick thrifting trip to St. Vincent where I found a grey velvet dress, navy blazer, and lime green planter. I've been slowly picking up things to get my plants in order for Spring. So far I have two daisy plants and two pots. I'm on the lookout for a mint plant, a new basil plant (mine has died over winter), and possibly a big palm. I'm so excited! I'm just waiting for the sun to get a little stronger and for more stores to begin carrying plants again.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Carnivalista: This calls for sequins.

I wore this look to Carnivalista, a vintage carnival charity event (benefitting the Children's Wish Foundation) organized by my friend Aurelia and her events management team for school. The evening included dinner and a show, a dessert bar and a fortune teller, a recipe for a perfect girls night! I always take advantage of any excuse to wear something from my collection of sequins. This was my first time taking this gorgeous pink blazer out for a spin and it certainly won't be my last. I paired it with a simple black sheer 90s dress and black glittery stilettos. I was truly blown away by all the perfect little details of the event and how smoothly it ran. I know how much work can go into a charity event and I am so proud of my girl and her team! I ended up winning my bid on a basket of hemp-milk raw cocao chocolate bars, of which I am still indulging in!

"My Latest Leslie Fay" #ootd x #inspirationgala

I wore this last Friday night to work The Royal's Inspiration Awards Gala. The night honours people for their various contributions and accomplishments related to mental health advocacy, education and awareness. It's always an emotional and inspirational (as the name would suggest) evening. My role for the night was social media and photography.

I love seeing what people wear! I managed to get a few snaps of my outfits so I thought I'd show you. I bought this dress back in November at the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show. It was priced at $80 but I haggled it down to $45. I adore the colour and the 70s vibe. I paired it with light blue stilettos and a white rabbit fur bag.

Daisy Lyfe

I live with my twin sister and on most days I wake up before her. She always has to see what I'm wearing before I leave the door. I'd say she even looks forward to it by the look on her face. This one morning last week, she said "Why don't you take pictures for your blog before you leave? You always look the best for work." Two seconds later I handed her the camera. She's my #1 fan and I'm hers.
